The Attack Blue filter retainer has a robust design to securely hold your filter in place. Simply use your existing O.E screws.
Do I need a retainer?
It depends. Some Corvettes have the GM retainer permanently glued to the GM filter. So when you toss the old dirty filter, the retainer goes with it. You would need the Attack Blue retainer. Some early Corvettes had the GM retainer separate, not affixed to anything. You can re use the GM retainer.
All LS9 Corvettes come with GM retainer glued to the GM filter. You would need the Attack Blue retainer.
The best way to know, is to simply check your intake.
